Classic Skiing - Beginners Clinics: Jan 24, Feb 9

If you haven’t done any or a limited amount of cross-country skiing, are tentative on hills or have trouble stopping, this is the clinic for you. Learn the essentials of cross-country skiing in a small group setting in a 2-hour clinic. A minimum of 4 participants is required. Meet at the Golf Course cabin. January 24, 2010 from 1-3 pm or February 9th from 4-6 pm. Interested to take one of these two clinics? Skate Skiing - Beginners Clinics: Jan 30, Feb 16

Do you have the need for speed? Enjoy learning proper skate skiing technique from a qualified club instructor who will lead you through a progression of exercises to help you with your balance and coordination. Meet at the Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre trailhead yurt. January 30 from 1-3 pm or February 16 from 4-6 pm. Interested in taking one of these clinics? Classic Skiing - Intermediate Clinics: Feb 20 & 23, March 5

Spend a 2-hour session brushing up on your classic skiing technique and getting some tips of the trade by a qualified and experienced club ski instructor. Lessons take place at Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre. A minimum of 4 participants is required. February 20 from 1-3 pm or February 23 from 4-6pm. Interested in taking one of these clinics? Skate Skiing - Intermediate Clinics: Feb 27, Mar 2

Receive some quality feedback and tips of the trade from an experienced and qualified club instructor to make your skate skiing technique more efficient. You need to have basic balance and coordination in skate skiing in order to benefit from this clinic. Meet at the Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre trailhead yurt on February 27 from 1-3 pm or March 2 from 4-6 pm. Interested in taking one of these clinics? A minimum of 4 participants is required.

 

Waxing Clinics: Jan 28, Feb 11 - postponed to a later date TBA

If you would like to make your classic stride more effective and want to learn how to make your skis faster then check this out! You will learn about the basic design of cross-country skies, mark your wax pocket, and find out the difference between the different waxes for propulsion and glide for different snow conditions. Meet at 7 pm at the Golden Golf Course cabin. Cost: $10 per person per clinic with a minimum number of 5 participants. Interested in taking one of these clinics? Moms & Tots (3-5): Jan 21, Jan 28, Feb 4, Feb 11

Under the guidance of a qualified ski coach, parents and tots (ages 3-5) will play ski games and get comfortable on skis in a fun and friendly environment. January sessions will be held at the Golf Course while in February the Moms & Tots will meet at Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre. Costs are $20 per family for club members and $30 for non-members (incl. trail fees). January 21 & 28 and Feb 4 & 11 during Rabbits. College of the Rockies: Jan 26 & 29

Kellie Erwin-Rhoads will be instructing an Introduction to Cross-Country Skiing course for beginners on January 26 at 7 pm (indoor session) and January 29 (on snow) through the College of the Rockies - Golden Campus.
