This year, Golden Nordic Club will be hosting a Level 2 Officials Course, open to anyone who has an interest in being involved with nordic ski races from the organizational point of view. Please spread the word up & down the valley as we welcome skiers and interested folks from out of town as well.
This Level 2 course is a Cross Country Canada (CCC) course and requires you to have taken a CCC Level 1 course and have experience in various roles at ski events.
This course is strongly recommended to all of our club's officials who took the Officials Level 1 course last year and especially all of our club 'chiefs'!
With a Level 2 Cross Country Canada Officials Course, you will be able to (taken from the manual):
- perform all major, secondary, and administrative duties for Olympic and Popular Cross-Country Ski (Loppet) type competitions;
- make appropriate rule interpretations for a specific level of competition;
- perform instructional sessions in 'secondary officiating' duties;
- make organizational decisions which take into account the needs of the athlete and risk management issues, and
- organize and officiate interval starts, pursuit, sprint, mass start and relay competitions.
Schedule is as follows:
