The Daylodge project is finally on the way! What a difference 72 hours makes. And the progress will be rapid from here on in! Our major battle with getting an engineered plan for the foundation went on for an aching 8 weeks and we waited two weeks for the 40+ custom screw piles to be fabricated. And, all the while the resort engineer was waiting for the ground to dry so the top dressing of the parking area and road could be placed.

Adopt a Log! and help finish our Nordic daylodge. This is an invitation to all of our club members and all our supporters to adopt a log which will make up part of our daylodge. This important program is meant to raise cash for putting up the daylodge as it needs additional funding to complete the project. The daylodge will be built of over 300 eight foot long square logs of beetle killed pine with a gorgeous blue denim look. We want to allow everyone to feel a part of the lodge, so here's your one chance to join in and Adopt a Log.

You can find it by going to our club's website - About Us - Facilities - New Daylodge - link. There are site plans, grants and contractors information and a couple of images. Also, we'll be looking for volunteers to help with various projects so if you know you'd like to help, please get in touch with Wayne Manzer at 250.344.6523 or email him kutenaiatuniserve [dot] com (here).

Hello, if you remember Ian Robinson's fundraiser started with a 30KM ski on the Dawn Mtn trails. He raised somewhere near $3500 at that time and has now finished the 220KM ride at the end of June with a total raised $5400. The total raised was $7.3 million for the event.

Unfortunately, our club wasn't selected for the Kraft Celebration Tour this year. It is not because of the lack of incredibly supportive comments from the public because in the end we had over 15,000 views and 150 comments which all showed support for our club's day lodge project. These testimonials were very wonderful to read and we appreciate your support as we head into the building phase of our day lodge very soon. There will be more news to come soon!
