Welcome to Golden's Nordic Skiing Trails!
We hope that you will enjoy our trails as much as we do. Reaching over 400 club members, we sometimes have close to 80 local skiers gliding along on the trails. With lots of trails to choose from, chances are that you won't run into very many other skiers along the track. However, you may see evidence of wildlife along the trails.
The Golden Nordic Ski Club operates two trail systems:

Dawn Mountain Nordic CentreDawn Mountain Nordic Centre offers 33 km of groomed trails for classic and skate skiing (12 km from town at the base of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort). The trails are groomed with a Bombardier 400 Snow Cat. The trailhead is at the new day lodge and parking lot. Just down the trail, there is a rustic warming cabin. Trail fees are $10/day for adults. We often have a volunteer trail greeter at the trailhead to meet you to give you some helpful tips on where to ski and to collect your trail fees. Wheather our friendly trail greeter is present or not, please place your trail fees in the deposit box at the trailhead. Please sign our register and tell us what you think of our trails.

Golden Golf CourseThe Golden Golf Course offers 6 km of groomed trails (6 km from town towards Kicking Horse Mountain Resort). Feel free to use the log cabin at the trailhead to warm up, lace up or wind down after a great ski. Trail fees are by donation ( suggest $2/day) to be placed in the deposit box at the trailhead which go towards the cost of grooming. Don't forget to sign the register and let us know how your ski was. |
